Tea Boxes
3 hand crafted and hand painted oak boxes made for the exhibition 'Teaser' in Spark Design Space in Reykjavík. Under the theme 'Tea House' I commissioned carpenter Ólafur Sverrisson to craft 3 oak boxes for me in a style inspired by traditional Japanese chabako tea boxes.
Chabako boxes are meant to contain all the necessary tools to perform a traditional tea ceremony. The boxes I painted, with help from my better half Anna, motifs referring to the process of preparing and having tea.
Only 3 hand made boxes were made, signed and numbered.
