Runes: The Icelandic Book of Fuþark

Book design, type and illustration for a contemporary book about runes, released by the Icelandic Magic Company, with academic assistance and texts by runologist Teresa Dröfn Njarðvík. The book is a modern contextualization of three runic alphabets, the Elder, Younger and Icelandic Fuþark, which I designed in a modernist style to bring them into the canon of contemporary alphabets used around the world today, leaving behind the aesthetics of medievalism and the touristy associations that runes have had in the past.
